I recently went to Turkey, Qatar, and Zanzibar. This was my first “long-term” trip since 2019 and I also decided to only take my carry-on.
Packing for a multiple-destination trip requires a strategy. When packing, start by laying out your wardrobe foundations— jeans, T-shirts, and shoes in colours that you can mix and match with everything. I try to wear everything more than twice to save on space.
Shirts
You can never go wrong with a white tshirt – this staple works for all seasons! You can wear a tshirt with jeans, shorts, skirts, or over bikini tops when at the beach.
Comfortable Shoes
Whether you’re walking on cobblestone streets or hiking up a cliff, a comfortable pair of shoes goes a long way. Nothing will ruin your day quite like blisters or sore toes.
Trust me, I learned the hard way in Istanbul when my loafers broke. Luckily, I had a pair of black sneakers in my suitcase. When traveling I always opt for black or white sneakers as they are versatile and can work with most outfits.
Jeans
A good pair of jeans is a must to throw on and go, no matter where in the world you are. Jeans are practical, easy to wear, and can be dressed up or down for maximum versatility.
Dresses
Dresses are great for travel as they offer an all-in-one outfit without having to mix and match tops and bottoms. When shopping for dresses I choose versatile styles in colours like a little black dress (LBD), long sleeve dress, maxi dress, or a linen shirt dress.
