Where is Zanzibar in Africa
Zanzibar is an archipelago (group) of islands that are located off the coast of Tanzania in the Indian Ocean.
Pemba Island is near Tanzania’s border with Kenya, Unguja and Latham Island in the middle, and Mafia Island down south.
The main island, Unguja, is often referred to as Zanzibar. Because of its strategic location along the spice and slave trade routes in the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar has been a stronghold for many countries throughout its history.
